First time i have written it!

Welcome to 2010.

Firstly - thanks to everyone who we have worked with in the last decade. I started Gigpiglet in July 2000... so this year marks our 10th year in business (and yes i think we will throw a party)

Further - and as importantly - thanks in advance to all the people we will work with in the next 10 years!

We saw out 2009 with some amazing tours, and huge parties, and then brought in the new year production managing Sydney Opera House NYE celebrations on the Western Colonade; Coincidently, the first time they have thrown the party in a decade - and i was there for that one too (albiet in a very different role, working as crew for a local labour company)

Look out for some exciting news this year; Gigpiglet Presents is starting a Sunday afternoon acoustic chill out session, new records from Gigpiglet Recordings, and Gigpiglet Productions going from strength to strength and show to show - kicking off the new year as Production Director for Grand Slam Oval at the Australian Open in Melbourne, some more great NOVA shows, and a whole swag of private and corporate parties.

This week saw us run the stage and production for the Yen Young Woman of the Year Awards (held at Angel Place Recital Hall) The show was a complete success, and the change overs between the performing acts were achieved even faster then we budgeted on!

So the brief version to get you up to speed.... We spent a couple of years production managing A Day On the Green.

We releasaed a couple of records.

We spent about a year on another one - The debut full length album from Pinky - and his band The White Russians. It is due for release through our label on August 23rd.

We went around around the country a whole bunch of times doing FOH and tour managing Thirsty Merc.

Last week saw the company very busy, on something very special, and now that it is over, we can tell you that it was Nicole Kidman and Keith Urbans wedding. With performers such as Neil Finn, Hugh Jackman, and Keith himself.... A great night indeed.

The Athron record is finished, and going to mastering this week, it has been a long road, but will be well worth it.

and last night saw the first show of The Beautiful Girls national tour. they are recording every show for the next 5 weeks on a fully mobile 24 track recording system, supplied by gigpiglet. hopefully there are some amazing shows, and a DVD in the near future...

9.04.06

The Matthew EP is finished. Its going to be out there for you all to see real soon.

Now some time will be spent finishing the beautiful Athron record. Think Jack Johnston crossed with Ladysmith Black Mambazo (wow that sounds weird)

But before we finish that, a quick tour for me, looking after Femi Kuti for the East Coast Blues and Roots Fest.

7.02.06

The studio has two projects underway. Gareth is recording and producing the debut release for MATTHEW. Recording is well underway, expect to be hearing it on your radios in the next few months.
Brendan Gallagher (of karma county) is working in the studio B on a solo release, involving many of his friends including Felix Bloxum and rob hirst.

Gareth has just returned from the vineyards (not sure if that was sensible?) as production manager for A Day on the Green shows for 2006. there are a few more of these shows planned before the year is out.
