Tours, Recordings and ARIA’s

News No Comments

Things have been keeping busy at GPHQ, with a new studio being completed which not only houses another PT HD2 system, but also an Avid Media Composer video editing system. Jack Carty has been working on his new record, as well as sessions from Sarah McLeod, guest producer Casual Psychotic working on The Guppies, and The Theaves, as well as Steffan working away on the debut record for Kita.

Gareth has been out on the road mixing FOH again (keeping the fingers warmed up) for a number of back to back tours from Tim Finn, Calexico (including an amazing show at the Sydney Opera House) Steven Wilson, Kim Wilde and Nik Kershaw, and from the next generation of UK stars – The Cribs.

Hard and work at home we have been updating the Live Recording systems with Midas XL48 mic preamps (dont they just look amazing) with the systems being so busy this year – recording the likes of Karnivool, Rudimental, Jason Derulo, James Arthur, Kim Wilde and Boy and Bear – just to name a few. We have added another two full recording systems to keep up with what is going to be a busy summer.

Most exciting however, is that our good friends RUFUS, whose previous release was on gigpiglet, have been nominated for not one by TWO awards at this years ARIA’s: Best Breakthrough Artist, and Best Dance Release. Congratulations to all involved, and cant wait to see you on the red carpet this year
